The Rewinders Podcast rewinds - and reboots - movies from the 80s and 90s that we watched as kids. We talk about what is remembered and felt about it as a child. Then, we determine if the movie still holds up. In between that we tangent, make jokes, and act dumb in general. Current hosts of the Podcast are Joe, Ken, Andy, and Dan. Movies are reviewed on a monthly basis and are usually released on Monday mornings.

Evil Genius, Rick Moranis, creates a HUGE laser in his attic designed to MURDER... but keeps telling people its really for shrinking... because that is what Evil Geniuses do. He also is a bad parent who creates doomsday devices in his family home instead of getting a lair, like a REAL MAD SCIENTIST! Anyway, his kids screw up the machine by smashing it with a baseball, and instead of killing them, like it should, the laser shrinks the kids instead.
From there its projected backgrounds and overly large props until they are blown back up to regular size... and maybe some ant erotica - its been awhile since I watched this...
Lee and Joe take a bite out of this unexpected Disney hit of a film and let you know if it still holds up!

You just listen to the old Pork Chop Express here now and take his advice on a dark and stormy night when the lightning's crashin' and the thunder's rollin' and the rain's coming down in sheets thick as lead. Just remember what old Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."
Lee and Joe remember their childhood interpretations of this film and determine if it still holds up.

Never let a big stinky animal man into your house... let alone without pants on - EVEN IF THE FUR COVERS THE NO-NO BITS.
Harry and the Hendersons is a movie that just doesn't care about the stuff between getting a Sasquatch from a forest into a family's home - and then exploiting any non-sense along the way for chuckles. Almost everything other than Sasquatch time is wasted time in this adventure.
This movie stretches Lee's ability to cope with its fiction at every step. Listen for the accurate depiction of the film in all its clumsy, harry, prat-fallness glory.
Then, stick around to find out if this film, which spurred a TV series, holds up after all this time.

High Adventure, Hilarity, and Hooligans - that is the 1985 film, The Goonies!
A staple film for young boys in the 80s, where a group of boys, cuz no girls allowed, go on a last adventure before having to move away... or at least out of their house. This adventure has them cross paths with dangerous criminals, booty traps, and pirate gold!
Lee and Joe reminiscence over one of their favorite childhood films while letting you know if the film still holds up.

Check out this brown squat of an alien! Check him out, he is from Star Wars country... errr... galaxy... errr something.
Anyway, this ALIEN, gets left behind because he doesn't pay attention at best, at worst - his party doesn't like him. So, at the first sign of danger they run and leave him behind. At least we are told its a him - how the heck are we supposed to know, I AM NOT CHECKING.
Anyway, the alien hones in on a family... and then the family's boy and grooms him for the inevitable butt probing that will most likely come in the sequel. Along the way he ends up getting in with most of the family as well. SUCKERS, they all will end up in a spaceship with metal up their butts if they aren't careful.
The government catches wind of this, and is all like "OH NO, this alien is going to screw this family... That is our job... to screw... the common American family..." never mind. They send the FEDS to steal this squat alien away from children, but the government sucks and can't steal anything even from children without making a HUGE FIASCO over it.
Bikes fly, kids get healed by alien voodoo finger magic - or at least a plant does, and we all learn a lesson in the end. Speak and Spells can conjure aliens from outer space.
Lee and Joe go over NOTHING but the facts when it comes to this movie. No jokes this time... its all super serious. Check it before an alien probes you and determine if the film still holds up.

Hotshot high school guy, pretty much all of the students love him, (Ferris) decides to take a senior skip day with his friends (Cameron and Sloane). They technically steal a car, perform fraud, identity theft multiple times, trespass on private property, lie, and incite a dance riot in downtown Chicago and fully get away with it.
Meanwhile, Ferris' sister runs a stop sign while speeding and ends up arrested and ticketed.
Life just isn't fair man... specially if you are the principal Edward Rooney.
Lee, Joe, and special guest Mark discuss the sultry details and have fun while discussing the movie and their memories of it as kids. Also, does it stand up to the test of time? Listen and see... at least what these guys think.
