The Rewinders Podcast rewinds - and reboots - movies from the 80s and 90s that we watched as kids. We talk about what is remembered and felt about it as a child. Then, we determine if the movie still holds up. In between that we sing, make jokes, and act dumb in general. Current hosts of the Podcast are Joe, Ken, Andy, and Dan. Movies are reviewed on a bi-weekly basis and are released on Monday mornings.

High Adventure, Hilarity, and Hooligans - that is the 1985 film, The Goonies!
A staple film for young boys in the 80s, where a group of boys, cuz no girls allowed, go on a last adventure before having to move away... or at least out of their house. This adventure has them cross paths with dangerous criminals, booty traps, and pirate gold!
Lee and Joe reminiscence over one of their favorite childhood films while letting you know if the film still holds up.

Check out this brown squat of an alien! Check him out, he is from Star Wars country... errr... galaxy... errr something.
Anyway, this ALIEN, gets left behind because he doesn't pay attention at best, at worst - his party doesn't like him. So, at the first sign of danger they run and leave him behind. At least we are told its a him - how the heck are we supposed to know, I AM NOT CHECKING.
Anyway, the alien hones in on a family... and then the family's boy and grooms him for the inevitable butt probing that will most likely come in the sequel. Along the way he ends up getting in with most of the family as well. SUCKERS, they all will end up in a spaceship with metal up their butts if they aren't careful.
The government catches wind of this, and is all like "OH NO, this alien is going to screw this family... That is our job... to screw... the common American family..." never mind. They send the FEDS to steal this squat alien away from children, but the government sucks and can't steal anything even from children without making a HUGE FIASCO over it.
Bikes fly, kids get healed by alien voodoo finger magic - or at least a plant does, and we all learn a lesson in the end. Speak and Spells can conjure aliens from outer space.
Lee and Joe go over NOTHING but the facts when it comes to this movie. No jokes this time... its all super serious. Check it before an alien probes you and determine if the film still holds up.

Meanwhile, Ferris' sister runs a stop sign while speeding and ends up arrested and ticketed.
Life just isn't fair man... specially if you are the principal Edward Rooney.
Lee, Joe, and special guest Mark discuss the sultry details and have fun while discussing the movie and their memories of it as kids. Also, does it stand up to the test of time? Listen and see... at least what these guys think.

Rob Reiner has Billy Crystal play an annoying young man (Harry) who pesters the crap out of Meg Ryan's character (Sally) who is just trying to drive across the country.
and of course he sort of develops a little thing for her. and just like every man ever - holds on to that thing for the rest of his life so he seeks her out after his marriage falls apart.
They do the friends thing for a few years, before they figure out they both like each other. like, like-like each other. You know.
Anyway - they kiss and the movie is over.
Lee, Natalie, and Joe all discuss, joke, and jeer the movie to find out if it has survived the test of time and still holds up.

Ye ole siren song calls to men of the sea to jump overboard and drown themselves.
Then, you get the reverse sirens that find drowning people and rescue them.
I can tell you, first hand... you never know which one you will get when you hear the call. Folks, those sirens can be mean - see you already drowning and drown you harder. NO ONE NEEDS THAT! At least getting coerced into leaping over board by a song and some suggestive clothing is somewhat romantic. At least your children and grandchildren have a story - if you have those things. Otherwise, no worries how you bite it - no one is going to remember you in a handful of years anyway.
SPASH is a romantic comedy that leads a young boy to meat a cute fish-girl after he tries to drown himself so he doesn't have to hear another verse of Wooly Bully. This encounter takes over his life until they meet again in New York city.
Non-sense ensues.
Follow the non-sense of Lee and Joe as they discuss this 80's rom-com and determine if it still holds up.
